e Activity

e Activity

Cooperative learning is an educational approach which aims to organize classroom activities into academic and social learning experiences. There is much more to Cooperative Learning than merely arranging students into groups, and it has been described as "structuring positive interdependence." Students must work in groups to complete tasks collectively toward academic goals.

Unlike individual learning, which can be competitive in nature, students learning cooperatively can capitalize on one another’s resources and skills (asking one another for information, evaluating one another’s ideas, monitoring one another’s work, etc.).

Furthermore, the teacher's role changes from giving information to facilitating students' learning .Everyone succeeds when the group succeeds.

·        Level  and number of students

This activity has been thought for students about 9-10 years old in a classroom of 25 students more or less.

.        Topic.

In this activity we are going to identify and name different countries through a song “ All around the world”.

      Goals .

- Learn the names of some countries
-Learn and sing a song “All around the world”
-Create a dance for the song and make a video to show the students in other countries. Students from other countries  will have to learn and share in the  Twinspace.
-Evaluate the video
-Create cohesion in the group
 -Increase self-esteem and self-concept

·         Product

The final product will be the creation of dance that they will have to show us in a video using vimeo as a tool.

·         Herramientas TIC.

We are going to use the Twinspace to show the dance of the song using vimeo or you tube. First of all, we will teach the students how to create a video in you tube or vimeo.

·      Steps in the process.

It is important before starting to work a good cohesion of the group to resolve  problems easily. So, to start with, we will listen the song all together. Then, I will give them the song in a small piece of paper and they have to learn by heart. Meanwhile, they can complete a crossword to learn the countries.

Then, I will form two teams and they will organize to prepare a dance in which all the students in the group have to participate. When the dance is finished. They will be recorded and they will have to load the video in the twinspace.Foreign partners will have to learn the dance and song and show the result by sending us a video
This is the song:

·         Evaluation.

Children in other schools will decide following a rubric which video is the best. In addition to this, we will have the opportunity of evaluating ourselves and to the members of our team.

.      Ways of collaborating

We will use the platform Twinspace to share the videos and the crossword. Also, we will share the evaluation rubric and the results of the rubric.

P2P ACTIVITY

After having read three drafts of projects and receiving assessments in the P2P activity on the sketching of my collavorative project and the proposals I have read, I am going to explain the most common strengths and weaknesses I have realised.

The possibility of evaluating our peers is very useful because we learn about the mistakes and the points that we have to include on the projects. All those points are necessary to carry out a good project.

In general, I liked all of them. The topics were very creative although I had to follow the rubric to evaluate and some of them didn´t include the contents, how they were going to evaluate the process and the students, the age of the students and so on.

TEACHERS´ BRAINSTORMING

On one hand, after viewing the video clip, I have carried out a self-analysis of my teaching practice to detect some key items that I would like to improve or where I would like to experiment. I have shared them in collective brainstorming through this collaborative and social noticeboard in which you can see my reflections.

On the other hand, there are many projects that might help me to improve in my teaching like "Travel with me".This project is creative. They send a teddy bear all over Europe and when they receive the toy they have to celebrate a party and take photos to send their friends in other countries.I think that is a good way  of learning, specially for little pupils
